About the Project:
For this project, I created an interactive 3D environment in Unity with the theme: "Abandoned Factory". The goal was to build a moody, mysterious setting where players can freely walk through a deserted industrial area. The focus was on world-building, lighting, and atmospheric effects to craft an immersive experience.
Assets Used:
To build the environment, I used an asset pack from the Unity Asset Store. It included a wide range of industrial objects, such as:
By using this asset pack, I was able to create a detailed and believable factory environment without modeling everything from scratch. I carefully placed objects throughout the scene to bring the world to life and enhance realism.
Lighting & Atmosphere:
Lighting and fog were key to setting the right mood:
Light sources were placed strategically to highlight key areas such as entrances, stairways, and open factory halls.
I used soft spotlights and broken fluorescent lights to create a sense of decay and isolation.
Volumetric fog was added to create depth and mystery. It subtly limits visibility and enhances the abandoned, eerie atmosphere.
Navigation & Experience:
Players can freely walk through the environment using a simple first-person controller. This allows for an up-close experience of the environment—exploring narrow corridors, dark corners, and large factory spaces.
